Józef Piłsudski Mound in Cracow (Kopiec Niepodległości Marszałka Józefa Piłsudskiego w Krakowie)

This Mound was constructed between 1934 and 1937 in honor of Józef Piłsudski - First Marshall and leader of the Second Polish Republic.
The Mound is located in Wolski forest in Zwierzyniec district. The easiest way to get there is to take a bus number 134 from Józefa Kałuży street that goes to Kraków Zoo. Next to the Zoo entrance gate there are signs showing alternative trails to the Mound. The shortest one lasts around 20 minutes but it's possible to choose also one that lasts over 2 hours. From the top of the Mound there is a great view of Kraków and villages surrounding it from the west and south.
